Professional Products has recently branched out into the Ignition Products area with an impressive lineup of late model coil packs. Here's a quick introduction as to why these new multi-coil setups are such a huge improvement. Every time a spark plug fires, it drains energy from the coil. The single coil only has microseconds to regenerate itself. With eight coils (on an 8-cylinder engine) each coil has eight times as long to build back to full energy. As a result you get a much stronger, more powerful spark with multiple coil setups. The Pro/Products coils go one step further in producing a longer spark event. More duration during the spark event does a better job of igniting the full fuel/air charge thus producing more power and less wasted fuel. Comparison of coil specifications show that Pro/Products coils exceed the stock coil, they also exceed that of many competitive ignition coils.
